Goals

2017 Goal Setting

As part of our teaching this year, we have been asked to identify two or more goals that we are going to work towards. I have decided to include my goals here:

1

Goal description:

  • Learning when and how to praise student work and effort.
  • To know the difference between praising work and effort.
  • To know how and when to provide opportunities for students to reflect upon own work and effort.

Steps to achieving this goal:

  • Twilight Hours – in house PD:

    • Questioning
  • Collegial observations focusing on the implementation of praise and feedback
  • Observations and discussions with teachers that have identified themselves or are identified as being proficient at this
  • Investigation of ICTs to make learning objectives/success criteria available to students
  • Actively searching for PD opportunities both within and outside the college that address this issue
