Research

Welcome to my PhD research page! On this page, you will find some information about my PhD research, as well as links to information specific to the schools, students, and teachers invited to participate in my research project.

I am currently conducting research as a PhD Candidate with the School of Information and Communication Studies at Charles Sturt University. My research question is:

What factors affect the teacher librarian’s influence on reading cultures in schools?

To answer this question, I am inviting all girls’ schools in the Greater Brisbane Area with students in years 7 to 12 to participate in my research. I will then select three schools for inclusion in my research project. All students in years 7 to 9 at these three schools and all teachers will be invited to participate in a survey on reading in their schools. From these surveys, I will select students and teachers for follow up interviews.

For a brief outline of what I am doing and why, you can read my PhD Research Confirmed post.

Members of schools that have been invited to participate in my research can access more information, including consent forms and surveys, from the relevant page using the password emailed to you:
